In accordance with COMELEC Resolution No. 10768, Persons Deprived of Liberty may exercise their right to suffrage and therefore, can participate in the 2022 National Election, by voting in a special polling place established inside the jail facility or otherwise be properly escorted to a regular polling place. Today, PDL registered voters in all fifteen (15) jail units in the region are casting their ballots on established onsite and off-site voting precincts. Part of the election preparation are the conduct of dry-runs and off-site precinct inspections by the BJMP Personnel to ensure a zero-incident and safe casting of votes. Meanwhile, BJMP XII Regional Director JCSUPT SIMEON S DOLOJO JR paid a personal visit to jails that served as onsite polling precincts to guarantee the security of the NLE. He reminded all the jail officers to stay on high alert as they perform their election duties.The ongoing operation is being closely monitored by the Regional “TUTOK-HALALAN TASKFORCE” to administer a real-time situation report as required by the higher office.
